Each of the elements that go into the making of a Goan home, have an interesting story behind it – a unique story of their origin, their uses and how they made their way to Goa. Xacuti (Konkani शागोती Shāgōtī) is a curry prepared in Goa, India, with complex spicing, including white poppy seeds, sliced onions, toasted grated coconut, and large dried red chillies.[1] It is usually prepared with crabs, chicken, lamb, or beef.[2][3] It is also known as ‘Chacuti’ in Portuguese.
